Having arrived the previous evening at our hotel in San Francisco the fun begins on your first morning collecting the bikes from our hire centre. We head out over the Golden Gate Bridge and head north up the Pacific Coast Highway.

Absorbing the beautiful scenery and relaxing into the more gentle pace of this ever changing road we enjoy one of the world's best coastal highways. As we head into Oregon and Washington dipping in and out of the forested bays and highways the road takes us through the great forested slopes of coastal redwoods of the American Northwest heading for the watery Seattle.

Heading into Canada we stop in Vancouver then head up through the mountains at Whistler up to Prince George. Stopping off at Hyder, serious fishing country for bears, we move onwards and upwards through Whitehorse, and into Alaska, through Tok and up to Fairbanks, our most northerly stop. Finally heading south and west we end out first half trip in Anchorage.

Ends in San Fransisco (California)

For those of you starting your trip here we head east through Tok and up over the Top of the World highway to Dawson City. Travelling through the beautiful Canadian Yukon where lakes, mountains and glaciers abound the scenery is absolutely stunning.

Crossing into Alberta and riding through the fabulous Jasper and Banff National Parks some of the nation's newest mountains raise their naked heads to the skies slashed by lakes of unbelievable blue waters.

Heading south into one of the USA's emptiest states and real mustang country Montana's rolling mountains and great rivers criss cross our path.

Heading south through Idaho, world famous for its potatoes, the scenery becomes more rural. Finally the last state before returning to California finds us in the gambling state of Nevada and desert country. We head back into California through Tahoe, the beautiful volcanic Crater Lake at above 6,000 feet and surrounded by peaks topping nearly 11,000 feet it stuns and beguiles you all at once.

A welcome break from the heat of the desert below this surprising lake is one of Americas deepest. Finally we wind our way back to San Francisco through wine country and fruit farms and back to the buzz of the city.
