Circuit & Area DetailsThe Road Racing World Championships continues with the Portuguese Moto GP from Estoril. This excellent track has given Portugal a motorsport venue to be proud of. It is a fast, twisting circuit that the riders seem to love. With the enthusiastic local fans making plenty of noise, and the races being consistently exciting, this is a great event to visit.
The Moto GP is one of the fastest, most thrilling sports in the world. The bikes reach speeds of up to 310kph (185mph) and the races are extremely competitive. Unlike Formula One racing, overtaking is frequent. The riders take the bravest lines to weave through the field and when the bikes close on each other they push it to the limit.
Estoril enjoys a superb location on the Atlantic Coast less than twenty miles north of Lisbon. Neighbouring Cascais, a fifteen minute stroll along the sea front promenade, huddles around a small bay filled with colourful fishing boats and the charming narrow alleyways and cobbled streets of the old town are full of shops and restaurants. Estoril is a chic resort with a long sandy beach and the famous Casino, the largest in Europe.

Travel InformationThe nearest airport is in Lisbon, offering flights to all main destinations in Europe and overseas. From the airport take the IC19 Sintra/Eixo N/S/2a Circular/Sul, and after approx 4.5 miles turn right, taking the IC17/CRIL/Alges/A5 Cascais. Follow signs A5 Cascais, paying toll, and then leave the motorway at exit 10 and follow the directions N9/Sintra/Alcabideche/Autodromo. From Estoril, a regular bus service runs past the main circuit entrance; on race days queues can be rather long. Taxis are usually not too expensive.
